Agrino

History


1955 - Foundation: Agrino was founded in 1955 in Agrinion, a rice producing area in Western Greece, by the brothers Evstratios, Evthimios and Georgios Pistiolas.

1970 - Specialization: From the 70's on, the rice range consists of all Greek white varieties as well as of parboiled rice.

1980 - No. 1: Since the 80's the Agrino products keep the first position in the Greek consumers' preference.

1993 - New Category: The company enters the pulses market, being the first to pack this range in a square bottom, easy-open, transparent bag.

1998 - 2nd Factory: With the completion of the state-of-the-art factory in Thessaloniki, the company significantly increases its production capacity.

2001 - Quality: The ISO 9002 and HACCP certificates from TÜV Germany confirm the high quality standards of the company.

2002 - Awards: The company is awarded by the international fair SIAL for the Agrino Specialités line, based on its innovation and commercial success and by the Athens Chamber of Commerce & Industry with the «Best Branded Product» prize.

2005-6 - Innovation: Agrino is the first company to produce Greek pulses with PGI certification, as well as Greek quick cooking parboiled rice.

2007 - Innovation: Agrino becomes the first rice and pulses company in Europe to apply the Good Agricultural Practice principles to the production of her products, mentioning the name of the grower and the cultivation area of the package.

2008 - Awards: This year the company was awarded by TÜV Nord Hellas with the special honorary prize «Commitment to Quality», for its yearlong dedication to the quality assurance of its products.

2008 - Greek Pulses: Agrino starts its great effort for the reintroduction of the cultivation of Greek pulses, and launches the first 5 product codes...

2009 - Awards: Kathimerini's Gastronomos magazine awarded Agrino - EV.GE. PISTIOLAS S.A. for her contribution to the food sector. Agrino is the only company in Europe, with rice products which are certified to be cultivated based on the principles of Good Agricultural Practice. At the same time, Agrino has launched a unique line of pulses, which are grown in various regions in Greece.
